Critical success factors in Software Development Projects

Irrespective of the software development methodology, projects still fail at any stage. Some factors that may affect project success or failure include process-related factors, such as an unrealistic budget and schedule, technical-related like methodology. The study aims to determine influence most critical each category (people, process, technical) on overall outcome in South African context. This surveyed members teams from across organisations gathered information about contribute outcomes. A structured questionnaire was used collect data. According results, need: (1) a committed motivated team; (2) client must be involved all time; (3) specifications/requirements clear; (4) leadership good; (5) project’s goals objectives well-defined. are ranked by their strength relation criteria. further found perceived related non-technical factors. research contributes current industry debate categories
